Year 11

Year 11.
Its underlined, even bolded.

What do you think of when it comes to the word 'Year 11'?.
NCEA? 80 credits? Not Achieved? Achieved? Merit? Excellence? what about... Exams, Internals and Externals?

It's currently the 6th of November; Exam month.

A whole lot of Year 11 students are on their first study leave. But on my perspective, they're either at the beach or making plans with friends. It hasn't hit us it yet; the realisation of being on study leave.

Our holiday isn't here for us yet. Y E T

I entered 2019 as a Year 11 student, excited that I have 2 more years left of high school; yay. But 2019 also came with Internals, Mid-term exams and trying to at least achieve 80 credits by the end of the year. Year 11 put a lot of stress and pressure onto me, trying to reach the standards of my teacher's expectations. Was I prepared? Absolutely not. But I endured it and gotten used it.

TIP: make sure you befriend your teachers.
You didn't hear it from me.

As it is coming to the end of the year for me, I at least achieve 71 credits. Close. Now it all depends on my exams whether I passed NCEA Level 1.

During this year, I joined a lot of groups. It helped me to have more confidence within myself, it gave me a sense of achievement and it also gave me the pathway onto being a leader to represent my school. Tamaki College. Joining groups also helps you expand your friendship circle, although they say to keep your circle small. But this helps you to become more familiar with meeting new people and this also boosts your confidence.

Yeat 11 comes with ups and downs but it's something that you can look back at and start being proud of yourself. This allows you to know what to do in certain situations and being mature about it.

Year 11 is just the start of everything.
