Scaffold Text - Paige, Breeana & June

Today for our reading activity, Paige, Breeana and myself collaborated together to make this DLO. Our group made this based on facts about the Wright Brothers. We learnt on scaffold text and that means building knowledge.

Main Idea - Reading

Today for reading we are learning to identify the main idea of the text, so we had to read a story and which tells us the main idea of the story. So we have to come up with three ideas from the text for the main idea. 

Current Events

As for my current events, I wanted to make one about these two runners. As you have probley been watching the Rio Olympics, Nikki Hamblin ( NZ ) and Abby D' Agostino ( USA ) took part in the 5,000 meter race in Rio. They have been helping each other from falling and helping each other to the finish line. I think that they have both showed teamwork in what they have done, they both show role models, team spirt, and again teamwork.

This morning, some of the students dressed up as their favourite book character. We did this to bring up the magic for the little kids of in my school. A BIG!! thank you to one of my teachers who organised this Book Parade. 

Advertising Poster

As you see, my group and I have collaborated together to make this Advertising poster. For this we had to write a paragraph in 25 words. it was pretty hard at first but we got the handle of this at the end. Then we wrote something about Adverstising down bottom. I think that we have done very good with this poster. 

Finding Information.

As you can see, this is one of my reading games that I have just done for reading today. For this I had to find out about the author purpose and find roads about where to go. I think this would be recommend to those who would find hard about the authors purpose.

What does the proverb “Make hay while the sun shines” mean?

This means that people trying to give you advice and take the job while the sun is still shining.

What is a proverb?

A proverb is an old way of getting communication and a way of getting good advice.

Find 3 more proverbs and choose one to illustrate.

• “ A friend in need's a friend indeed ” If someone helps you when you are in trouble, that person is a true friend.
• “ Don’t talk the talk is you can’t walk the walk” You shouldn’t brag about something you are able to do if you actually can’t do it.
• “ At first you don’t succeed, try, try again” Keep working hard and trying to succeed, even if you failed the first.

With Camp coming up next year what connections could you make to the text?

• With camp you could try the thing you learnt at camp and bring it home to teach others.
• Don’t leave the things you learnt at camp and try and make an affort to bring the connections home.

What would you do to help make some money to help with your camp fees?

• Some kids could wash someone's car or do some cleaning.
• Someone can do some extra chores.
• Mow lawns
• Walk dogs
• A babysitter.
• Sell some of the things that you don’t want anymore.
• Sell Candy
• Set up a bake sale.

Here is a DLO (meaning the Digital Learning Object ) about the Ski trip. From here we were given some questions to answer about the book I was reading. This was fun and very easy because the question were easy to answer. Next time I could refer back to this and could find some more proverbs.

Yes because aliens can travel with UFO’s through earth. Some UFO’s can be shown throughout NASA. If you are looking through some of the pictures, it	No, not maybe just no because they are nowhere to be seen throughout these years. No because some of the pictures are different to others.

This above it a Document that be and my partner created. We both and a collaborated this Document to show that we have been learning how to conflict two part of stories. One side is where someone say's yes it's true, and on the other side it's where someone say's that it's not true. So what we did here was explain both sides of why UFO'S are real and if Aliens still exist.

Today I worked collaborated with Evelyn and Mya. Together we had work on this and did synthesized. Synthesized means building your old knowledge and taking the new knowledge towards making a new understanding knowledge.

This is my retelling of the story about Get Into Gear, Stilton. The purpose of this is to retell a story about Geronimo Stilton in my own words and that it would other kids to read his stories. I found this book very interesting because a has really powerful words that makes me want to think of how his making other reader more interested and that makes me want to read more. I would rate this book a 10 of 10 because it made me make picture in my head of whats I'm reading about.
